Bagha Upazila Correspondent: Police have arrested three youths on charges of gang-raping a schoolgirl in Bagha, Rajshahi. Police arrested them on Sunday (June 13) at around 5am from the garden platform behind the Bagha Upazila Health Complex. However, it was not possible to arrest the main protagonist of the incident as his fianc নাম Ravi was absconding.
According to the complaint, on Saturday evening, the schoolgirl was called by her boyfriend Robi (22). His real name is Alamin. His father's name is Manik Hossain.
The schoolgirl mentioned in her complaint that Sumon had had a physical affair with her earlier with the promise of marriage. Last Saturday (June 12) evening, he called the girl from Tenthulia village of the upazila on his mobile phone to the premises of Bagha Health Complex. Then Sumon came a little later and left her with her three friends.
Meanwhile, after Sumon left the scene, he did not return. The accused (1) Tareq (25) father Emdad Ali, village Uttar Milik Bagha, (2) Arif Hossain Orupe Nasir Uddin (23) father Sadek Ali, village Milik Bagha and Sabuj Ali (21) father Nahsen Ali, village BajubaghaNew neighborhood.Bagha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazrul Islam said the girl along with her parents came to Bagha Police Station on Sunday night and filed a rape case against the four. Police were able to arrest the three on the basis of that allegation. There is another fugitive. The arrested accused will be sent to jail through the court on Monday afternoon, he said.
